Seal upon my heart (a love poem to God

I’ve learned the sound of silence,

The echo of my prayers,

Late nights talking to Heaven

Like You’re sitting in the chair.

I wanted hands and kisses,

But You taught my soul to stand,

You loved me in the waiting

Before I ever met a man.

You traced my scars like scripture,

Called my wandering heart home,

Said, “Daughter, you are chosen

But love is never rushed or owned.”

So seal me on Your heart,

Not borrowed, not halfway,

I won’t trade holy fire

For a spark that fades away.

I am Yours, and I am ready,

But I will not run ahead 

Love will find me standing still,

With my vows already said.

I’ve been a garden guarded,

Not afraid of how I bloom,

I carry joy and thunder,

Make a sanctuary of a room.

If he comes, he’ll come with reverence,

With a steady, patient flame,

He won’t chase my body first 

He’ll learn my soul and say my name.

He’ll see the woman, not the ache,

The crown before the dress,

A man who knows that covenant

Is how you love me best.

So seal me on Your heart,

That’s how forever stands.

If I walk the aisle someday,

It won’t be chasing rescue or relief,

It’ll be two whole people saying yes

Because we already believe.

So seal me on Your heart,

Write my name in grace,

I am not afraid of waiting

If it keeps me in Your ways.

I am loved, I am pursued,

I am covered, I am known

Whether now or in the promise,

I have never walked alone.

While waiting, i draw near to God, and if my love story unfolds differently than how i imagined? well, theres still priase on my breath!

What tangled webs the spinners would have woven, had they had no sense of direction,

Yet the wise shepherd did not leave us without good instruction. 

Leaving behind a sure strong foundation,

In the legacy he left behind, we find our consolation. 

We remember not the sadness of a life passing on high,

But the memories of his teaching, his humanity, and his love as he soars up to the sky

Forever with the Lord in heaven,

We who are his sheep, are to carry out the mission, for he indeed was given a vision.

To share the gospel to every man, woman and child,

Being ushered in by other entrusted shepherds all the while. 

To heal the sick, cast out demons and raise the dead to life, resuscitation

To walk in and speak of the truth which is an act of love, not a point of contention.

He left this world parting with “take care of the flock, oh dear children, the little ones among you, let them not be deceived”

“Both in stature and in spiritual maturity, grow them up, prepare their hearts to receive.” 

“Teaching them to be rapture ready,

And to stand firm, and hold them steady” 

“I must go on before you dear ones, but this is not the end,

Should you endure to the very end, you will see me again” 

“And to the flock, i wont leave you without a covering,

My servants who i trained and prepared for this, will not leave you lacking” 

“You all must now go and be about the Father’s business, 

Carrying on with the mission.” 

“Though i ascend to heaven, yet is it in humility,

For i must decrease so that Christ may increase” 

“Remember what i have taught you, stay true to the faith,

Stray not and stay on the path of the deposit of faith i have given down to you. For,  i should think i also, have the Spirit of God. Amen”

Cast your cares on Him Sunday sermon notes

Sermon Overview

1. The Journey of Following Christ (Luke 5)

• Looking Back at Peter’s Story: Peter (Simon) started as a simple fisherman. His story shows us that a walk with God is filled with ups and downs, but it all begins with obedience.

• Obedience Unlocks Blessings:

  • Peter was willing to defer his own expertise: "Because You said it, I'll do it."

  • More obedience leads to more freedom and blessings.

• Humility at the Start:

  • When Peter first encountered Jesus, he fell down saying, "I am a sinful man, go away from me."

  • Most of us don't come to God with our lives together—we come "tore up from the floor up," in need of deliverance and forgiveness.

2. Personal Prayer & Stepping Out in Faith (Matthew 14)

The Power of Private Prayer

• After feeding the 5,000, Jesus went away by Himself to pray.

• Key Takeaway: Corporate prayer is great, but private, personal prayer matters even more.

• Take time to reset—whether it's on a lunch break, in your car, or in a quiet room. Set aside 30 to 60 minutes just to connect with God.

Walking on Water: Enablement and Focus

• When Jesus walked on water, Peter tested the moment: "If it's You, command me to come."

• God’s Principle: If God commands you to do something, He will enable you to do it. He never commands what He won't empower.

• Doubt vs. Action: Peter started sinking only when he got distracted by his surroundings and took his eyes off Jesus. Even so, he was the only one with the courage to step out of the boat.

• Personality Archetypes:

  • Lions: Jump straight into action without overthinking.

  • Beavers: Analytical, risk-averse, and cautious.

  • Application: There is a time to think and a time to act. Don't live in indecision—operate in faith and take action, believing God will make up the difference (Proverbs 16:33).

3. Real-World Faith: Step Out & Trust God

Illustration 1: The Law Enforcement Principle ("Good Faith")

• In law enforcement, if an officer makes a mistake while acting in good faith (doing what a reasonable person would do), they aren't held liable.

• Personal Story: A high-stress pursuit of a carjacking suspect led to holding an innocent 65-year-old club owner at gunpoint due to incorrect dispatch details. After clearing the error, the officer apologized. Because the action was taken in good faith, there was no liability.

• Spiritual Lesson: Step out in faith! Even if everything isn't perfect, God covers you when your heart is acting in good-faith obedience to Him.

Illustration 2: The 90-Day House Miracle

• A couple found their dream home, but the realtor said their credit would take 90 days to clear—meaning no house.

• By faith, they trusted God. The seller allowed them to live in the house for free during those 90 days.

• Mid-way through, fear and doubt tried to creep in ("We're going to be homeless!"), but they rebuked the fear.

• Outcome: The credit cleared on day 90, and they stayed in that house for over 8 years.

4. Faith vs. Fear & Handling Spiritual Warfare

Defining Faith and Fear

Faith (Hebrews 11:1): Expecting that what hasn't happened yet WILL happen because of God.

Fear: Expecting that the bad thing that hasn't happened yet WILL happen because of the enemy.

• Fear and faith cannot occupy the same space at the same time. One comes from God; the other comes from the devil.

Don't "Play Tennis" with the Devil

• You are not equipped to fight the devil in your own strength—he has thousands of years of experience tricking people. Rebuke him directly.

• The Highs and Lows: Peter was called the "Rock" one moment, and then rebuked by Jesus the next ("Get behind me, Satan!").

• True Christians experience spiritual ups and downs. When you slide back into old habits or fleshly reactions, quickly put Satan back in his place: behind you, not in the driver's seat.

The Power of "Pre-Decisions"

• Prepare your mind ahead of time so you aren't caught off guard when tempted or tested.

• Example: Pre-decide to extend grace and empathy to a struggling coworker rather than judging or firing them. Remember that God is a God of second chances.

5. Staying in Community & Casting Your Cares (1 Peter 5)

Beware the Adversary (1 Peter 5:8)

• The devil operates like a predator (a cat or lion):

  • He lurks patiently, waiting for you to let your guard down.

  • He tries to isolate the weak, young, old, or distracted away from the herd.

• The Trap of Isolation: The enemy will give you excuses to miss church ("You messed up," "You're too tired," "Everyone will know").

• The Remedy: Stay in community. When you show up to church, God will often speak directly to your situation through a song, prayer, testimony, or message.

Cast Your Cares on Him (1 Peter 5:7)

• We often try to carry heavy emotional and mental burdens by ourselves.

• When God says "Give it to Me," we hand it over—only to grab it right back. God is a gentleman; He won't force you to leave it with Him.

• Action Step: Cast your cares on God like throwing seed/corn—and leave it there. Stop picking back up what you’ve surrendered to His strength.

Summary Prayer / Core Motto

"Lord, HELP ME!"

Walk in faith, stay grounded in community, make pre-decisions for holiness, and leave your burdens at His feet.

And shine Gods light in the darkness, not to cover up their wounds but to heal them slowly over time, allowing them to be, express and exist and be accepted exactly where they are.
